An Evening with virtuoso guitarist Alfredo Cáceres
and Mark Medin, flute
Join us for an intimate evening of Latin and Latin Jazz music, including South American folk tunes and original compositions by guitarist Alfredo Cáceres. Joining him throughout the evening will be local flutist Mark Medin. The evening will include a gourmet dessert buffet, beverages and a chance to meet the artists and hear their stories.

Alfredo Cáceres: Cáceres is a complete guitarist and has been involved in a wide variety of projects and bands, in styles ranging from Flamenco, Jazz, Brazilian, Salsa, to Pop and Latin, and has collaborated on more than 50 recordings in Guatemalan and International productions. Born in Guatemala City in 1977, Alfredo has three recordings where he is featured as Composer, Arranger and Co-Producer. He also has worked on many more projects, including recording on the 2009 Grammy Nominated album “Bajo el Sol” by the Russ Hewitt Band. Cáceres is currently the guitarist for The Karina Velasco’s Flamenco Company “Cuatro Caminos Arts & Flamenco” in Los Angeles, Flamenco! Live! Dance Ensemble in Sonoma County, and the Russ Hewitt Band, in Dallas, Texas. He lives in Los Angeles and visits the SF Bay Area to teach and perform. Mark Medin: Mark obtained his degree in Music Performance at University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. Following that, he continued flute studies with James Walker and Ann Giles of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and with jazz flute legend Sam Most. While music performance has not been his principal vocation, Mark has had the privilege of performing classical and jazz music with a variety of wonderful musicians over the years, including lutenist and guitarist John Schneiderman, and jazz bassist John Patittuci. He has also played flute for local Spanish dance group Sol Flamenco. Mark, a Sonoma County resident, is a Missional Partner with the Journey Center, and just completed a series of graduate-level studies in spiritual formation and community.
